PMG Rapport Forte Estate auction entry

1981 Daimler Double-Six PMG Rapport Forté Estate
Registration no. 2888 AP
Chassis no. 2K-2893BW
Engine no. 37610
Rapport International Group started out offering four-door, six-wheeled conversions of the Range Rover before launching the sensational Forté convertible in 1980. When Rapport went into receivership Patrick Motors Group stepped in, commissioning specialist coachbuilders Ladbroke Avon, of Warwick, to build one complete car as a four-seater sports estate using a Jaguar/Daimler XJ12 floorpan and running gear as the basis. A 1980s magazine article featuring ‘2888 AP’ (copy available) remarked on the car’s “feeling of rigidity… that identifies it as a professional engineering job straight away. The XJ floorpan has been reinforced by adding a steel backbone over the transmission tunnel, and the scuttle and sills have been given similar strength.” One of just two completed Fortés known to exist, this highly individual motor vehicle is offered with its cherished registration and Swansea V5 registration document.
